SmarTours

The client required a comprehensive redesign of their travel website due to its outdated design, poor user-friendliness, and low traffic levels. The objective was to modernize the visual appeal starting with the color scheme and logo, establish brand guidelines, and develop an attractive, user-friendly interface for both desktop and mobile platforms. Additionally, the project involved designing advertisement templates to drive traffic to the newly revamped site. The entire project was scoped to span six months, from initial concept development to the official website launch.

Old Logo

The project began with the redesign of the logo, as shown above, which was slightly outdated. The client desired a new logo that clearly signified their identity as a travel company. I presented multiple logo options featuring clean sans-serif fonts and creative uses of pin icons. After careful consideration, we decided to retain orange as the primary color to convey a vibrant, eye-catching, and exciting theme that I aimed to portray.

Once the logo and color scheme were finalized, the next step was to establish brand guidelines. The main objective was to delineate all possible applications and define the overall look and feel of the company.

The next step was to redesign the website for both desktop and mobile. The challenge lay in the previous website's outdated design, which included elements like yellow starbursts, and the client's initial reluctance to reduce text and enhance visual elements. We began by deconstructing the old website into a sitemap, wireframe and carefully curating information to minimize the steps users needed to take to book a trip. The main goal was to create a user-friendly and visually appealing design. To address the issue of text overload, we proposed a solution that involved distilling the content to essential keywords and enhancing its SEO/SEM effectiveness.

This project has been completed and handed over to the client for ongoing maintenance. Please note that there have been changes to both the content and design since the original delivery.
