eCommerce Division Growth

The eCommerce division at Almo has undergone a comprehensive restructuring. Our primary focus was to assemble a talented team of designers and lead them in both updating existing assets and creating new ones to support our direct-to-consumer (D2C) and business-to-consumer (B2C) initiatives.

Over the years, Almo's eCommerce division had struggled to reach its potential within the company. Recognizing the need for significant transformation, we embarked on a journey to revamp the entire division's structure, aiming to boost profitability and reduce aged inventory. Tasked with leading creative in this initiative, I set out to build a dynamic team of multimedia designers while implementing new processes and refining best practices.

 

By thoroughly assessing the division's requirements, I successfully curated a diverse team of eight creatives, including a lead designer, video lead designer, and four additional entry to mid-level multimedia designers. With time being of the essence, we swiftly established streamlined processes for file naming, storage, and distribution across thousands of assets. Simultaneously, we crafted fresh branding guidelines for numerous in-house brands, ensuring consistency and coherence.

 

Moreover, we conducted thorough competitor analyses to glean insights and implement top-performing practices. Our efforts extended to optimizing years' worth of white background images, lifestyle shots, and Amazon content to meet the exacting standards of our products.

As part of our revamped processes, we begin by meticulously photographing items against a white background in our dedicated in-house photo studio. This comprehensive shoot covers every angle, ensuring a thorough representation of each product. We then move on to capturing lifestyle images and b-roll footage, staged either in our studios for smaller items or in carefully selected locations for larger ones.

Following the photography phase, our skilled team undertakes meticulous editing to refine the images to perfection. These images are then optimized to meet the rigorous standards set by our key resellers, including Amazon, Mayfair, Walmart, Home Depot, and others, resulting in what we term as "enhanced images." Additionally, the footage of our items is expertly edited for use across these same resellers' platforms and on social media channels.

Beyond photography and videography, our team's responsibilities extend to creating a wide array of marketing materials. This includes banners, manuals, digital and print collateral, event graphics, sell sheets, and much more. Through the collective efforts of our team, we consistently deliver high-quality output, driving an upward trajectory in divisional profits.
